Our Projects
Mission II Haiti is a non-profit organization that is aided by the Rotary Dawn Club of Kearney Nebraska. Volunteers travel to Cap-Haitien, Haiti. Our main focus is repairing water wells to provide clean ground water for cooking, bathing, and laundry. We also provide multiple other services that help the Haitian people. Thus far, we have distributed over 4,000 pillowcase dresses and shorts to be made by talented women in Nebraska and Colorado. We purchase shoes for the students that are getting an education as well as many other smaller tasks. Mission II Haiti helps to improve the lives of those living in impoverished communities. Below are some of the projects we undertake, of which you can contribute.
Water Projects
Mission II Haiti has repaired and maintains over 160 water wells in Northern Haiti. Open wells are also covered and sealed with a new pump. Click on the link below. We will show you how we improve lives. We are helping this developing country become developed. We are trying our hardest to provide the people of Haiti with water for bathing and laundry.

Food Distribution
While in Haiti, if we become aware of a village or family in need, we return to Cap-Hatien for groceries. We primarily supply rice, beans, and spaghetti. The Kearney Dawn Rotary Club did a Pack-A-Thon event, providing 50,000 meals for hungry people in northern Haiti.

New Shorts and Dresses
Seamstresses in Nebraska and Colorado work throughout the year to sew new dresses and shorts for the children. These are usually the first new items of clothing the children have ever received. Volunteers take extra suitcases on their trip to Cap-Hatien so we can distribute the clothing when we work in a village.

Hand up Program
While in Haiti, the Rotarians met with many families. These families have nothing. Nothing but pride. One woman said that she does not want hand-outs, she wants hand ups. She did not want money given to her, she needed to earn it. She made hand-made dolls. The money made from these dolls goes towards four different families in Haiti.
